Change the "original" user name that appears in documents and settings as though it was loaded with that new name to begin with.
When I loaded Win XP some years back I used the user's name CSM_1. I would like to change this system file to a new name. Not just add a new user or make a copy of that user with a different name, but change that folder to a different name.1 person needs an answerI do too

You can change the display name of a user account in Control Panel>User Accounts. However, this will not change the actual profile name and the underlying files/folders will still be the old name. You must create a new user with the desired name. Since you state that you don't want to do this, understand that changing the display name is a cosmetic change only because that's the way the operating system works.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
